Her family first tried to rehome her directly so she could avoid entering the shelter, but sadly they weren’t able to find her a new home. Paris previously lived with adults, children, and other dogs. Her former owner described her as active and playful, and when she arrived at MACC, she was noted to seek affection and attention from the family members who brought her in. ❤️ Unfortunately, the shelter environment has been difficult for Paris and she's now at risk.🚨 While in care, she has been fearful and at times avoidant of handlers, sometimes looking for an exit when approached. More recently, she has also snapped during handling when a handler was removing her slip leash. When I met Paris, she started off a little aloof, but treats quickly helped her engage with me consistently. She LOVES treats, takes them with a little enthusiasm, and is also an air-catch champion. 🥰 She accepted body petting, sat for treats, came when called, and remained attentive and well-mannered with me.💯 I don’t think I got to see the full Paris that day. She still seemed unsure of her surroundings, but underneath that fear was a senior lady who was trying her best to engage. Paris needs someone who understands that she needs a slow, gentle approach, patience, and space to feel safe again. She once had a home, a family, and a person she loved. At 10 years old, she deserves to have that again. Please give Paris a chance. She's available only through ACC's New Hope partners.
