Comment “Epic” for the trail name. 🗓️ Date Visited: 7/5/2024 🚗 Gravel road to the trailhead, high clearance and 4x4 are not required. 🅿️ Medium sized gravel parking lot, but it fills up quickly. 🥾 9.3 miles RT, 2,785’ of elevation. 💧 Multiple small water crossings. 🦟 Be prepared for mosquitoes. ⚠️ Follow all Sangre De Cristo Wilderness rules and regulations. 🦮 Dogs must be on leash. (Pack out dog poop) ⛺️ Camping is not permitted within 100’ of streams or trails, and within 300’ of lakes. Please use existing campsites on durable surfaces. 🔥 Campfires are not permitted within 100’ of streams or trails, and within 300’ of lakes. 🚻 Use portable toilets (WAG Bags) or bury waste in a 6-8” deep hole away from campsites, trails, and at least 200’ from water sources. Pack out toilet paper.
