Manman Taffy 🇭🇹 :
I'm so tired of people taking Wicca, stripping it's context and meaning, as well as it's name, and then forcing it onto others as hard rules.
Do no harm includes yourself.
It also means to cause the least amount of harm as possible, because we know that's it impossible to actually "do no harm." Like the ripples created by throwing a pebble in a lake, you can't see how far they go. Besides, just walking on the Earth harms grass, insects, etc.
Sometimes, a precise hex on one person is far more effective and causes far less harm than trying to protect the whole world from them.
As for not charging, Gardner was rich and was living at a time when Witchcraft was illegal, so he had to protect himself and his coven. In my coven, my oath was to not charge to to teach magic to my covenmates. I can charge for selling candles, teaching classes to others, etc.
And yes, it's an oath. Unless those Witches took an oath, they can do what they want. It's not a Witch Rule ™️Maybe I need to start making videos about these things. Maybe I can help quelch these silly "rules"
