1️⃣ A winning trade can still be a bad trade. If you broke your rules and happened to make money, that doesn’t mean you traded well. Sometimes the market rewards bad behavior... and that can be more dangerous than a loss. 2️⃣ Your P&L isn’t your report card. I used to judge how “good” I was at trading based on how much money I made that day. Now I care more about whether I followed my rules. You can trade perfectly and lose. You can trade terribly and win. 3️⃣ The trade you take after a big win matters. Losses get all the attention, but winning can mess with your head too. You feel invincible, increase your risk, loosen your rules... and suddenly give it right back. 4️⃣ You need rules for when you’re NOT trading. Nobody talks about this enough. Tired? Distracted? Emotional? Trying to make money because you “need” it today? Sometimes the best trading decision is knowing you're not in the right headspace to trade. 5️⃣ You don’t need to make your money back today. This one would've saved beginner Amanda SO much stress 😂 The market doesn't know what you lost yesterday, and it certainly doesn't owe it back to you today. Start each trading day fresh. 6️⃣ Scaling exposes everything. Following your rules with $10 at risk can feel very different when there’s $100 or $1,000 at risk. Get comfortable with your process BEFORE you worry about trading bigger. 7️⃣ Your strategy shouldn’t need your opinion. This might be my favorite. After 6 years, I genuinely don't care what I think the market is going to do. I have 3 steps. Price either gives me what I'm looking for or it doesn't. My ego doesn't get a vote.
