i was telling my husband (boyfriend at the time, i think i was like 17) that i hated how bananas were so acidic because i can never finish a whole one before my tongue starts hurting. he said what?? i said yeah like pineapple? you eat too much and it burns? turns out i am actually allergic to BOTH and they aren’t supposed to feel like fiberglass😭

i’m allergic to pumpkin, i used to get almost like an acid burn on my arms during carving; thought it was normal for a long time…….come to find out that pumpkin foods aren’t supposed to be tingly either

I found out I was allergic to the binding agent in chocolate when I was talking with a friend about acidic foods that make ur mouth feel strange. He brought up pineapple and dill pickle chips. I said chocolate but apparently that wasn’t the right answer.

this is how my husband found out he is allergic to watermelon. we were eating and he says “i love it but it always makes my throat itch and it’s spicy” i was like “watermelon isn’t spicy… your throat is itching!?” same with avocados too

a coworker said pineapple was spicy. that they didn't eat it because it made their throat itchy for like 2-3days after. also, if pineapple juice got on their skin, say their arm, they'd get itchy. and I just kinda looked at her and said "are you sure you're not allergic?" "oh. guess I am."
