@e_jordanthomas: ‼️BUSINESS NERD ALERT🚨 The business lesson I didn’t expect to learn from the Jay-z concert… Shoutout to Marcus Lemonis for the business concept. Shout out to Lamar Tyler Ronnie Harris Tyler for the exposure. 🖤✊🏽 Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Great job breaking it down. I remember going to the Kit Kat club and others and always parking our Black Range Rover next to Jays Gray Range with Jersey plates. We even sat next to him in the VIP section. The lesson I learned from that experience is that you never know who’s going to blow up. Who’s going to be who. I would have taken advantage of the proximity and tried to do some type of business with him like I’m sure Ari, the club promoter did.

Yeah, maximizing revenue capacity. I think we call that greed right?

Super interesting and … most stadiums in Europe don’t have “floor seats”. I noticed this at Staude De France too!!

I’d say this differently using different examples of maximizing revenue based on the concept you discuss. All of the stadium seats are the baseline. The maximization of revenue happened when RocNation added merchandise sales beyond the event dates that included the pre-concert popups and the online shopping. Merch sales from these two were for the people who couldn’t attend the concert but still gives them access to the significance of the event. The other example was how they incorporated D’usse/Aces of Spades throughout the concert experience, thus increasing both direct and indirect sales. Your point is valid; I’d just use different examples that showcase what you’re saying because these two multipliers means 💰 💰 💰

Standing room only is standard for every concert in Europe. Every concert in the EU is like this it isn’t a anything ground breaking lol

another play that was smart was to host it on his wife's birthday knowing that he could tap in to the delulu of her fan base on the slight chance she might perform. so some people showed up that weren't necessarily there for him alone

Oooh thank you never thought of it this way 😅. Re: standing room only on the floor—I notice smaller bands in bigger venues (the 1975 at United Center in 2019; Allstate Arena in 2023) utilized this. As did Charli XCX at the sweat tour (she didn’t have side panels, but did a noticeable portion of the shows both nights at Kia forum on each side of the stage). But then larger artists (Gaga, Lorde, Beyoncé) sold seated floor tickets for their most recent tours.
