Being a tween it’s necessary to do hangouts by ur self. Like a mall hangout one parent in the mall with the group the mom does her thing the group does there’s the mom making sure she’s near. But malls are closing

I’m afraid to go out 2018 I was out side but now I can’t no friends are out here so I don’t want to go out side and I don’t go and pay attention any more to family reunions or cook outs bc there isn’t anything for kids to do bc all the adults do there is drink and gossip and we get told to stay out of grown folks business so yea.

This is why I’m glad that our crib is the kick it spot for my kids & their friends. They know if they leave our house, everybody gotta come back.

Actually its statistically proven that America is much safer then when our parents were out riding their bikes all over the city with no phone plus kids have cellphones now. My aunt can track my cousin when shes out with her friends and even hear her surrounding area. Also keep in mind the oldest Gen alpha member is 14. They actually probably watched the news more then we do lol. Also keeo in mind we had preteen culture because of the older teens making music and doing the acting. Now Gen Z are streaming and everyone hates on each other's success.

The craziest stories and shi I hear all come from before we had social media mainly because it was easier for people to get away with crazy things like serial murder and kidnapping back then if your child left the house you wouldn’t hear from them until they came back home that night you can literally track and watch your child’s every move now it definitely has evt to do with social media kids don’t wanna play outside they wanna play on the game and on the phone!!!!

There was also safe stuff for us teens to do. growing up I had boys and girls club, church had teen nights , YMCA used to have late nights for teens on the weekends . We don’t have that no more ! And I hate that. I wanna change that in my community ..

Yes. I’m a great parent but so protective of my kids because WHO can you trust. GENUINELY? I’m scared to fail my babies because we’re so overprotective. Currently in family therapy trying to figure this out. The world has changed tremendously.

I put extra effort in making sure my daughter is in a “Good” neighborhood. & with that, she’s had kids group counseling where her and other kids have dinner together , do Bible verses sometimes , & the counselor talk to them about productive things in life, she’s in a A graded school & I’m so excited for her schools pep rally and game because they get to represent their school & go cheer, her school also have a whole period dedicated to just unwinding the mind and getting any help with work if they need it & play games 💛💛💛 —— by typing this you made me realized how blessed we actually are. ——— my kid also still plays with dolls & her friends do too sometimes 🤣🥳 so for me i never thought about a “teen culture” but i think we’re keeping the spirit alive a little💛💛💛
