@thefeedingcompany: I’m not sure when we got it confused… Tummy time became huge in the ‘90s post-"Back to Sleep" campaign to prevent flat heads and motor delays—especially as modern baby gear (bouncers, swings, car seats) started keeping babies on their backs all day long. It was NEVER meant to be an arbitrary chore you force a crying baby through. If your baby isn’t constantly stuck in baby containers, they’re already building neck and core strength just by being held, worn in a carrier, or laying chest-to-chest with you. When a baby cries on the floor, their nervous system hits fight-or-flight (zero motor learning happens there) and their muscles are usually exhausted.
