To all the Caribbean Diaspora or Peoples of African lineage, the word or term "Coolie" originated from I believe the Portuguese. Then, the British adopted and used it to call folks of East-Indian and Chinese or East-Asian lineage. What does the term or word "Coolie" mean?. Any unskilled labourer or person. Does folks either of modern Chinese or East-Indian heritage isn't a big thing in Trinidad & Tobago.

Same thing in St Lucia. I was in form 4 when when my history teacher told us that in other countries coolie is considered offensive most people have no idea.
