I'm not going to go watch his video, because I've had him blocked since the spider video, but I'm an Entomologist, and my research is specifically on insects as a food/feed source. The idea is not to replace beans with insects, it's to minimize the wasted energy, because insects are far less susceptible to foodborne pathogens that are dangerous to us, and so can eat spoiled or rotten food, and Black Soldier Flies, which my research is on specifically, can also thrive on manure, so we can recycle multiple waste streams into a feasible food source. Right now the majority of this is geared towards using them as feed for livestock like chickens or farmed fish, though, because most humans seem to get rather squeamish about it.
