Track services firefighter here... "AMR Safety Team" is largely branding. AMR is the sponsor. Most folks on those trucks are firefighter/emts with their home agency (Indy, IMSA, and NASCAR has team members all over the country they'll fly to events). Most of these people have no professional affiliation with AMR. In NASCAR, AMR does provide paramedics and doctors to ride in the chase trucks. Mind you, each track-provided fire truck also has a local paramedic on it too. In Indy, their doctors are all part of the Indiana University Hospital. Not AMR. That being said, add the NHRA Safety Safari to this list too. They were the very first dedicated, specifically trained motorsports safety team.

Corner marshal here. We are NOT ALLOWED to respond. We can only use our flags & radios. Full stop! We no longer train for response. I have been flagging since 1976 & for those of us who have flagged in the era of being able to respond, we are truly frustrated that we can't respond.

Wrong, it’s just branding and sponsorship for AMR. Indycar has its own team own equipment that travels to each track. The only locals are corner workers and the ambulance.

A couple years back they had to patch something crazy like 60 yards of fence outside of turn 5 at ra and they did it in I believe an hour and a half it was absurd to watch

We had a pretty significant crash at 24hrs of Daytona this year. AMR was on scene within 40 seconds of impact. They are truly top notch

No joke sometimes they are pulling up before the yellow flags are shown on broadcast! And it’s so important that they are equipped with full safety gear so they can properly assist. I think any criticism of the incident is from a place of concern for both drivers and staff.

nothing like watching the crash happen and seeing the trucks already fucking hauling out of the access before the car is stopped or yellow is out.
