@khanjicyber: 🇫🇷 France just told 2.5 million government computers that Windows is done. And the wild part is they already knew it would work, because the French police have been running Linux on over 100,000 machines since 2008 and saving about two million euros a year doing it. On the 8th of April the French government ordered every single ministry to map out where they depend on American tech, operating systems, cloud, antivirus, even the AI tools, and hand in a plan to get off it by this autumn. Their own digital agency started ripping Windows out of its own machines the same day. The minister didn’t dress it up either, he basically said the state can no longer just admit it’s dependent on American tools, it has to break free. Germany’s already moved a whole state off Microsoft, Denmark’s pushing the same way, and Italy’s watching. Now think about your own business. Every contract, every invoice, every password sits on infrastructure you rent from someone else. France just decided that’s a national security problem. Send this to whoever runs IT in your company and ask them what the plan is if the licence gets switched off.
