Random spherical coordinates clump at the poles and you can see it instantly. Use the Fibonacci method: y = 1 - (i / (n - 1)) * 2, radius = sqrt(1 - y * y), theta = i * 2.39996 (the golden angle). Perfectly even every time. 2. Keep the base position of each point in a separate array. You animate an offset from it, never the position itself, or the sphere drifts apart over a minute. 3. Each frame push every point along its own normal by noise(base * 1.5 + time * 0.2) * 0.12. That is the shimmer. 4. Store a random seed per point in a buffer attribute and add it to the noise input, so they don't all pulse in sync like a heartbeat. 5. Material: size 0.012, AdditiveBlending, and depthWrite false. Without depthWrite false the particles cut holes in each other and the whole thing looks dirty. 6. Colour by displacement with vertexColors, mixing white into pale violet at the peaks. 7.
