Ontario, Canada and my grandmother was born in 1919. Hilda Gertrude Driver is her name and she was subjected to electro shock therapy for female hysteria before she was in her 20’s. Most likely anxiety brought on by her mother being killed in a house fire she was blamed for. It wasn’t her fault but the damage was done. Sad thing is most of those people probably had dementia Alzheimer’s elderly there wasn’t mental health back then most time we’re just put there because the family didn’t want them. They could’ve been productive adults but now a lot of things have changed. We need mental health facilities now.😳
