@.dredge: NEWLY RELEASED BODY-CAM FOOTAGE: Police Find 18-Year-Old Soccer Player, Karoline Jordyn Heintz, Dead in Jeep CALIFORNIA, Pa. — An 18-year-old Pennsylvania man is facing a homicide charge in the stabbing death of his girlfriend, 18-year-old Karoline Jordyn Heintz, whose body was found in the rear hatch of her Jeep Cherokee near the California Borough Public Library on Aug. 20. Heintz, of Peters Township, had recently graduated from high school and was preparing to begin her freshman year at PennWest California, where she was a member of the women's soccer team. Her family became concerned after she left home the night of Aug. 19 and did not return to campus. An Apple AirTag helped investigators locate her Jeep shortly after midnight. California Borough officers found blood on the vehicle and discovered Heintz's body inside. A preliminary examination identified stab wounds, according to testimony later presented in court. The Washington County coroner's office responded to the scene. Pennsylvania State Police charged Royce Joel Moser, 18, of North Strabane Township, with criminal homicide and related offenses, including tampering with evidence, abuse of a corpse, conspiracy and obstruction. Heintz went to Moser's home in North Strabane Township on Aug. 19. Moser became angry during a conversation with Heintz in her vehicle, retrieved a knife from his home and stabbed her. He placed her body in the Jeep's rear hatch and drove toward his mother's residence in Beallsville. Moser's mother, Rachel E. Moser, 56, is accused of helping conceal evidence. She faces charges including hindering apprehension, tampering with evidence, abuse of a corpse, conspiracy, obstruction and criminal use of a communication facility. A knife recovered from a garbage bag at Rachel Moser's residence contained DNA matching Heintz. Both defendants were held without bail in Washington County Jail.
