In this scene, at the last minute he decides to address the nation and be honest about what's coming. He's then evacuated to a massive underground city where the country's selected elite are kept safe for the coming years. The show mostly takes place in the bunker city, with flashbacks to times before the attack. The main character is the president's most trusted secret service agent, who is raising his kids alone because his wife didn't make it to the bunker on time.
