I think what people fail to realize is that when Selena performed these other artists cover songs she sang them accordingly to how they were written. Beyonce took one of her old songs and put it on one of Selena songs that's not a tribute. That's just copy and paste. For Beyonce being as big as she is I hold her to higher expectations for an artist. I was expecting like what Selena Gomez did with Selena and Bidi Bidi Bom Bom or how Whitney Houston and Dolly Parton singing the song I always love you. That's the expectations I have for Beyoncé not copy and paste. As a Mexican-American all I can say is that Tejano music is for everybody and if Beyonce wants to dabble in it she needs to do the work just like everybody else not just copy and paste.

An icon like Selena was in a category of her own. She was humble, free-spirited, loving, and genuine. She had such a beautiful connection with people and animals, and there was an innocence and authenticity in the way she carried herself. She never had to look down on anyone to shine.
