If you are serious about getting better clients, stop doing these 2 things. 1. Stop accepting every client. Some business owners think more clients automatically means better business. So whenever someone shows interest, they immediately say yes. Even when the person is rude. Even when the expectations are unrealistic. Even when the person clearly does not respect their process. Here is what happens psychologically: The moment you act like you desperately need every client, the client starts feeling like they have all the power. They ask for more. They push your boundaries. They negotiate everything. And sometimes, they become harder to work with than the money is worth. Better clients notice when a business has standards. You don’t need to reject people arrogantly. You simply need to know who your business is built to serve. Ask yourself: “Is this person a good fit for the way I work?” That one question can completely change how you handle inquiries. 2. Stop trying so hard to prove you are good. This one is subtle. Some businesses spend the entire conversation trying to convince the client that they are talented, experienced, affordable, reliable, professional and better than everyone else. But the client is not only asking: “Are you good?” Their brain is asking: “Will working with you make my life easier?” That is a different question. A client may already believe you are good and still choose someone else because they don’t understand what the experience of working with you will be like. I remember a small catering business that kept telling potential customers about their ingredients, experience and beautiful meals. People listened. Then disappeared. They changed one thing. Instead of talking mostly about themselves, they started asking what the customer was trying to achieve, what problem they were worried about and what kind of experience they wanted their guests to have. The conversations changed. Why? Because the customer finally felt understood instead of being convinced. That is what better clients respond to. Don’t make every conversation a performance. Make it a diagnosis. Instead of asking only, “How can I convince this person to choose me?” Ask: “What does this person actually need to feel confident moving forward?” That’s where stronger clients start noticing the difference. And if you want to learn deeper strategies for getting clients easier, handling difficult conversations, understanding client psychology, handling objections, building trust and stopping poor communication from costing you opportunities, The Client Code goes much deeper. Check the link in my bio before you make another communication mistake that costs you a good client. #ClientPsychology #BusinessGrowth #ClientCommunication #GetBetterClients #TheClientCode
