STARLINK IS NOW OFFICIALLY IN UGANDA. 🇺🇬 This is bigger than just getting faster Wi-Fi. On September 2, 2026, Starlink officially switched on its satellite internet service in Uganda, meaning Ugandans can now legally order Starlink equipment and subscribe to the service. (Pulse Uganda) So why does this matter? For years, internet access in Uganda has depended heavily on mobile networks, fibre and other terrestrial infrastructure. But Starlink uses satellites in low Earth orbit to deliver internet directly to a user terminal. That could be a game changer for people living or doing business in areas where fibre hasn’t reached, mobile coverage is weak, or traditional internet is unreliable. Think about the possibilities: A young person in a rural area can work remotely for an international company. A student can access online courses without travelling to Kampala. A farmer can access global markets, weather information and digital services. A business can operate online even where traditional broadband infrastructure is limited. A content creator can upload large videos without depending entirely on congested mobile networks. And this is where I believe Uganda’s biggest opportunity lies. INTERNET IS NOT JUST ENTERTAINMENT. Internet is infrastructure. If you have reliable internet, you have access to education, global customers, remote jobs, digital payments, information, artificial intelligence, e-commerce and international markets. Starlink’s arrival therefore creates both competition and opportunity in Uganda’s telecommunications industry. But let’s also be realistic: satellite internet doesn’t automatically mean cheap internet. The equipment and monthly subscription costs still matter, and performance can vary depending on location, network congestion and other conditions. Starlink itself says typical land-based latency is around 25–60 ms and download speeds can vary significantly. (Starlink) Uganda is entering another phase of the digital economy. The question is no longer simply: “Do we have internet?” The bigger question is: “WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO WITH IT?” Because the person who uses the internet only to scroll TikTok is consuming the technology. The person who uses it to learn, build, sell, create and connect with the world is using the technology to build wealth. STARLINK HAS ARRIVED. NOW LET’S SEE WHAT UGANDANS BUILD WITH IT. #StarlinkUganda #Uganda #DigitalUganda #Internet #Technology
Five springs in this little cottage! First with Basil as a puppy last year and this year with a baby 💕 It definitely feels like we’ve transitioned into summer now, so I’m looking back fondly on the cooler days of spring. Bracing ourselves for another day of hiding indoors tomorrow! Hope you’re managing to stay cool 🩷 . . . #cottagelife #countrylife #cottage #cottageliving #cottagecore
