ive heard this take and i just disagree. ion fw hamilton that much. but its a musical. its not a documentary. getting your political and historical knowledge from a musical is a burden on that watcher, the MUSICAL itself should not be held in a lesser viewpoint

Hamilton was a race traitor and a class traitor. His mom was a POC prostitute, likely a black woman or a biracial woman. He was mixed and born to a poor woman. But he fought his entire life to take away rights from everyone who wasn’t born a wealthy white man, which he WAS NOT!!

it's just an entertaining musical, i don't take it too seriously. like half of the white characters were played by black people, it's clearly not rooted in any historical accuracy.

I actually love Hamilton, it’s one of my favorite musicals, and I get the inspiration behind it of educating people about Alexander Hamilton and people associated with him, but I also found the musical to be backwards sometimes. Like in cabinet battle 1, Hamilton throws a line at Jefferson about using slaves to plant crops, and I don’t like how it makes Jefferson seem like the only slave owner in the musical, even tho EVERYONE in it was. However, I feel like this musical was made in mind with considering everyone as flawed, but showing what they actually did to help develop the country.

I'm latinoamerican, and hamilton was my first media to introduce me to US history, and tbh I liked it more so because of the fandom When I saw how they looked in real life, I was disappointed and confused to find out that they were all white, I genuinely believed George Washington was a black man 😭 I just didn't understand

I will say, Hamilton isn't meant to be a history lesson. It isn't to watch to understand American History. It's not even to prop up Hamilton himself. It credits him for what he did do, but also shines light on his flaws. The musical has a negative view on slavery and a positive view on immigrants. I think the characters in the musical can be isolated from their real life counterparts. The historical figures are not great people, but the musical itself really is not a historical piece.

I do like Hamilton musically. It’s one of the most embarrassing things I like. Probably the most embarrassing. I think your criticism of Anthony Hamilton is absurd. He didn’t do anything but be an old man since he was 20 and eat grits, I assume.
