the blocking of any records request at any public office is infact illegal and you can sue and win you are allowed to record the entire process for legal reasons and it cannot be infringed the common issue people bring up is HIPA violations but the thing about HIPA is that a customer or citizen is not responsible for the proper storage and classification is solely the responsibility of the buisness corporation or any entity that is willingly retaining private information belong to any person aside from those employeed by said office or entity. the hospital that has your insurance information is responsible if your information gets leaked due to a hacker using their system to steal information. the local restraunt that was hacked via their terminal system that leaked your cc data is the responsible entity same way with the post office if the mail clerk half hazardly has mail and private information scattered about their desk because they did not properly file and put it away it is not the person walking in who can just as easily whip their phone out snap a photo and now a stalker knows where his next victim lives. it is not the customer or citizens responsibility to ensure private remains private it is the buisness and if they are hindering legal processes due to their lack of competence to properly store private information then it is infact within the citizens rights to seek action against the entity in violations of said laws.
