Hmm, someone will come and cry on you later 😂😂😂. Let’s be realistic for a moment. How many people does an average hospital or healthcare facility employ in Radiography and Sonography compared to Medical Laboratory Science?
A single facility can have several Medical Laboratory Scientistss/Technicians working across different sections, Hematology, Chemical Pathology, Microbiology, Blood Bank, Histopathology, Immunology, etc. Meanwhile, the number of Radiographers and Sonographers required in the same facility is usually much smaller. Medical Laboratory Science also has a wider range of work settings like, hospitals, medical laboratories, research institutions, blood banks, public health laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, diagnostic centres, universities, and more.
So before someone concludes that Radiography or Sonography has better employment opportunities, let’s look at the actual number of positions healthcare facilities need. 😂
Radiography and Sonography are important professions, no doubt but Medical Laboratory Science has a much broader workforce demand because laboratory investigations are required across virtually every area of healthcare.
