This is crazy. Mineshaft has been there forever (I’ve lived in LB a long time) and never heard of behavior from their staff like this. Really disappointed to see this and sorry you had to go through this. If you still feel like going out in Long Beach next time, I really suggest Sweetwater right down the road. I know that it’s marketed as a lesbian bar, but it really does have all kinds of queer folks in there and is a safe space.

And this person saying it’s “not directed at you” is such a cop out WHAT?! It’s not directed at you?! It happened to you?! They need to take accountability. This is so dangerous, this is so wrong. Bathrooms for us trans people, is one of our most vulnerable times, we all have so much trauma from this. YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO ASK FOR SEPARATE ACCOMMODATIONS AND TO BE TREATED DIFFERENTLY?!
