I was a single dad who raised 2 kids worked a part-time job and went to school 4 days a week there was no one there to help me I wasn't even eligible for food stamps

It's so hard to be a single parent. She has to work to support her family and she probably doesn't have any family members to help her. I am not condoning leaving children alone but I understand her circumstances. Daycare and/or paying a babysitter is expensive. I'm sure she loves her kids but single Moms or Dad's need help. Where is the government when childcare is needed? They never offer help until it is too late. I pray to God this woman will get the help she needs.

omg these comments are awful! this is why woman have to do this, we have to support our family alone because the world's SO messed up. you cant rely or trust anyone. how else do you think the mom support her family??

And, if you don’t have very much support from your family, friends, neighbors, how about going to the neighborhood church and trying to meet some people that you can be friends with and perhaps they will introduce you to some people who you can trust to hire to watch your children while you go to work?!? HMMM??? A closed mouth doesn’t get fed!! Open your mouth and let folks KNOW what you need!! Call the father of the child(ren) and HIS mother/sister/nieces, etc., ask THEM to help with THEIR relatives!! My family owned rental houses for 30 years here in Memphis, & several of our tenants were single mothers. Once a year they would request a copy of their lease indicating the terms of the lease to provide to the county because they were entitled to FREE (or reduced) CHILD CARE!! I know the government provides SO many much help for single mothers in many aspects! BUT you must open your mouth and let someone know what you need!! You go on social media for everything ELSE you want to know!! Google “how to get financial help with child care”…

For anyone who didn't go to the second part, the kids were 8&10 both with developmental disabilities and they had been called out of school and locked in the house for over 9 hours.
