I’m 34 and I was deeply okay being the only single one when all my friends were married, but now that they’re all having kids and constantly talking about babies I’m feeling the discomfort rising up. I feel misunderstood and like my life isn’t legible to people, and I long to feel that ease of legibility even though I don’t want their lives. How do you navigate this disconnect?

My brother told me I was being selfish because I don’t want to have kids. He said that I robbed him of the experience of being an uncle. Mind you he has 3 kids. You’ve got enough on your plate don’t worry about me

I’m 53 and I’ve never been married. And I don’t regret it at all. The only thing I do regret is getting involved with the man who I actually had a daughter with. I don’t regret the daughter. I regret involving him in any way. I should’ve just disappeared. He’s really made my life miserable. I don’t know what is wrong with them. Why they have to be so awful.

If my absence causes so many problems and is met with so much shaming then I expect my presence to be met with praise and rewards. If me not sharing my life, body, and time with someone affects the quality of their life negatively then I expect my demands to be met as stated the first time. I don’t have to compromise. I don’t have to show up for a man the way he says. A woman’s wants and needs are not up for a compromise. If you don’t need us then they should be fine. There should be no complaints from men about anything. If my presence doesn’t matter then neither does my absence

I'm 35 and have never even had a boyfriend and have known I didn't want kids since I was 14. I've never felt selfish or guilty. And I was raised in a strict religion. I don't know why I've never felt guilty but the feeling has always been annoyance for me. 😂
