It always amazes me when a parent falls apart and acts like they can’t believe something like this could happen. Both these children were developmentally disabled, neglected, and locked inside what became a burning hell. She seriously never played that tape all the way through to see the worst possible outcome?

In the 1970s, my mother left me at home with my two younger siblings in the summer and I was only 10. The difference is that she taught me safety, what to cook and how to cook it and what I could use and I knew better than to do anything other than what she told me. It sounds to me like she just left her kids alone at their own devices and something tragic happened. Her children also had developmental disabilities, which means they should never have been left alone.
