@asmaldigital: If you have tried to build an AI agent and it came out useless, you skipped the same three things you would never skip with a new hire. I laid this out on The Cave podcast. It is the simplest version of how to build an AI agent I can give you. Think about what happens when you hire a person. Step 1. Memory. They need to know about your business. Who you serve, what you sell, how you talk, what has already been tried. Step 2. Skills. You give them SOPs. Instructions. How the job is actually done here, not in general. Step 3. Tools. You give them access. Email. Your CRM. The places the work actually happens. Nobody hires a person and hands them none of that. But that is exactly how most people try to build an AI agent. A prompt, no memory, no process, no access. Then they conclude the agent is useless. Your AI needs the same three things. Memory, skills, and your tools. That is it. So how do you build an AI agent that actually does the job? Run the hiring checklist on it. If you would not expect a new employee to perform without it, do not expect the agent to.
