@realfarmerjeff: I’ll be planting my garlic in mid-October, but your timing will depend on your climate. If you live somewhere with mild winters and no frost, plant in the fall as temperatures cool and choose a softneck variety. If you’re planning to grow garlic this year, now is the time to buy your seed garlic. Seed garlic is specifically selected for planting and is recommended over trying to plant grocery store garlic for various reasons.
