@dana_conway: Save a dance for me, will ya?💃🏽✨ Welcome back to “Single, but cooking like someone’s falling for me tonight.” Who’s hungry?👀 Beignets Ingredients • 240ml evaporated milk, warm • 60ml warm water • 7g instant yeast • 50g caster sugar • 1 large egg • 55g unsalted butter, melted • 1 tsp vanilla extract • ½ tsp salt • 500g strong white bread flour • vegetable oil for frying • 200g icing sugar, for dusting • Maple syrup, to serve Method 1. Mix the warm evaporated milk, warm water, yeast and sugar together. Leave for 5 to 10 minutes. 2. Add the egg, melted butter, vanilla and salt. Mix well. 3. Add the flour and mix until a soft dough forms. Knead for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth. 4. Cover and leave to rise for 1½ to 2 hours, or until doubled in size. 5. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about 1cm thick. 6. Cut into roughly 5cm squares. 7. Cover and leave to rise for another 30 to 45 minutes. 8. Heat the oil to 175°C. 9. Fry the beignets in batches for 1½ to 2 minutes on each side, until golden and puffed. 10. Drain on kitchen paper and generously dust with icing sugar. 11. Serve warm with maple syrup for dipping. #princessandthefrog
