This isn’t exactly a graduation moment, but I want to share something I experienced during my first year of college. Back then, I thought my classmates didn’t want to be friends with me because they rarely talked to me and never invited me whenever they went to parties or hung out on weekends. I honestly thought they were only talking to me because we were classmates and that they didn’t really want me around. It wasn’t until my third year of college, when I had to stop studying because I needed to start working, that I realized I had been wrong all along. I remember my last day at school, when we were filming for our final project. It was the first time I had ever spent an entire day with them, from morning until afternoon at one of my classmate’s houses. That day, I finally opened up and talked to them more, and they talked to me as well. That was when I realized that they weren’t actually avoiding me. They did want to be friends with me, and they weren’t bad people at all. It just hurts knowing that I realized it too late. After that day, I never got to see most of them again, and many of them didn’t even know that I was going to stop studying. Sometimes, we only realize how much people meant to us when we’re already running out of chances to spend time with them.

I always say that I already want to go to college but in retrospect, I’m not ready to let go of my friends. The people I adore, the ones I can trust, and the missing puzzle pieces to my life. I’m also scared that I’m mentally gonna be ruined, even tho I kinda alr am but still.
