And from the start, AJ’s life is a nightmare with bruises, ER visits, and lies JoAnn coaches him to tell like “the dog did it.” Fast-forward to April 14, 2019. AJ has a small accident, and JoAnn snaps. She throws him in an ice-cold shower, hits him with the metal showerhead, then sends him to bed still wet. By morning…he’s gone. Instead of calling for help, they Google “child CPR” at 3 a.m….then spend days rehearsing a missing-kid story. Andrew hides AJ in a basement tote, later buries him under power lines with the bleach and gloves they used. Four days later, they call 911 sobbing, go on TV crying, even join a candlelight vigil. But detectives clock the lies fast. AJ’s little brother slips, Google history nails the timeline, and Andrew finally confesses. JoAnn gets 35 years, Andrew 30. And honestly?
