And here is the recipe for you all to enjoy it. There's something about making your kid's favorite cake exactly how they want it. No fancy frosting, no decorations… just rich, dense chocolate perfection. The house smells like a chocolate dream right now and I already caught her peeking into the kitchen twice. This cake has that beautiful crackled top, that deep chocolate flavor, and the cream cheese makes it so incredibly moist it practically melts on your tongue. It's the kind of cake that doesn't need anything extra because it's already everything. INGREDIENTS: • 2 sticks butter, softened • 8 oz cream cheese, softened • 1/2 cup shortening • 3 cups sugar • 6 large eggs, room temperature • 3 cups all-purpose flour • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder • 1/2 teaspoon salt • 1 cup whole milk • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Preheat your oven to 325°F. Generously grease and flour a bundt pan. 2. Beat the butter, cream cheese, and shortening together until smooth and fluffy. 3. Gradually add the sugar, beating until light and creamy. 4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. 5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. 6. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. 7. Stir in the vanilla extract until just combined. 8. Pour the batter into your prepared bundt pan and smooth the top gently. 9. Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. 10. Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then carefully turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely. She's going to be so happy tomorrow.
