You could put a hallway runner rug in the middle so you can still see a bit of the timber but it’s not a noticeable transition between the 2

Create an archway on the ceiling and build part of the wall out and make a feature of the turn in the room and it will enhance the different floors.

Put down LVT vinyl tiles. Bloody amazing. Loads of different types and shades Amtico and Kardean are good suppliers

Can you not put a door where the other flooring is to separate it and just keep the floor and use it as a boot room or even like where you would hang coats and things just to make it even better
