Rogue Spider :
I actually stopped watching TV and whatnot all together because I just got like an uncomfortable feeling with most stuff. I had a psychology teacher that explained how our brains do have protective mechanisms in case somebody is trying to manipulate you in a way. He also showed us very extensively how marketing ads, commercials, and even movies or shows; that all have subjective purposeful things that we don't even realize we're seeing. An image can be hidden within an image and you don't necessarily see it but your subconscious can. Anyways, that teacher said if you're ever watching something or you see a picture and you get any kind of uncomfortable feeling, like a really strong one of something not being right. You should never ignore it, because usually that's a sign that something's off, your subconscious is warning. I listen whenever I have that happen to me. It felt like shows and commercials, they seemed to cause me to get this weird feeling, and I just stopped watching television. I very rarely watch movies anymore and it's usually just because my daughter begs me to watch a horror movie with her, otherwise yeah I don't really like watching TV anymore because it just feels off. I listen when I feel like that for a reason. My husband and I were watching a YouTube video it was basically somebody playing a video game on a loop, but he was talking and joking and it was humorous. Then I was just overwhelmed with this very uncomfortable wrong feeling, and I looked over at my husband, and he was really intensely staring at the screen. I started calling his name and he didn't hear me for like a few seconds, I had to continuously call his name. I kinda had to shake his shoulder to get him to look away from the screen. Once he was looking away, he was kind of out of it for a second, and I asked him why he didn't hear me, he said he couldn't explain it that he just couldn't look away. After that, for me it felt like proof, I guess, that it's very possible to be manipulated without even realizing it just by watching some simple or seemingly harmless YouTube video. Anyways, maybe tuning out isn't necessarily a bad thing, tuning in might be the issue.
