I have witnessed a jack fail (AC Delco) just before I crawled under the car. The bleeder valve shot off and hydraulic fluid squirted everywhere. It’s one of those things where you may have never seen one fail in the past so you think you’re all good but man, I feel lucky having witnessed it and seeing it firsthand and it’s a permanent reminder that Jack stands are non-negotiable.

My car just fell of a jack and jackstand… no one was hurt and nothing broke but always…. And I MEAN Always be careful and make sure position is correct 🫣

I have a 4 inch lift, but if I have to take the wheel off, I put the wheel under the frame just in case the jack stand fails. I catch a lot of flack for it, but I’ve had a car fall off jack stands.

Me and my buddies no matter how dumb we are always with toss the tire under the car for something quick. Heard too many stories like these comments of people going too soon bc of stuff like this. It wasn’t serious but me and my buddy had a jack pop the hydraulics and start falling slowly thankfully we had stands but I could only imagine if the jack fully caved
