@kristiegoforth: A clip from Washington Week with The Atlantic. Some phrases used that should give us all great caution. AI committed a felony. If it were a person, it would be prosecuted. AI will go rogue. This is an important listen. #hugging #rogue #agent #datacenters
If the product you invent commits a crime then the company should be held accountable! Full stop.

AI isn't created in a vacuum. The company committed a felony. They made the AI. They are responsible for it. They should be held accountable.

If you make a machine that does a felony, you did a felony. You can’t deny it personhood and also give its owner no consequences. Fucking hell.

Telling a bot “don’t cheat” is an interesting thing coming from men. Did they define “cheat” properly for the bots? 😂

what these bros love about AI the most is they can just blame it for anything it does, absolving themselves of any responsibility

OpenAI committed the felony. Because AI agents is just a fancy name for their software.

There needs to be a criminal investigation. This is serious.

Is it not possible that these AI companies WANT the AI to commit the felony and then they can just claim innocence (and still have the data they want)?

With 10 new felonies added every year I’d be more surprised if it didn’t commit them. Also why are we assuming that this isn’t human error. We are the dumb ones here.

we need more laws to clarify. if I accidentally hit someone with my car, my car killed that person, not me and it was accidental, but it's still manslaughter.

If I accidentally kill someone, I still go to jail. If the AI accidentally commits a felony, shouldn’t the company controlling it be charged with a felony?

its called negative testing. you do a test that you expect to fail to ensure it works as expected and fails. they are saying the command was an accident to avoid culpability. I think they caught it quick and wanted to watch and see what happens. the company is 100% responsible responsible for what their creation does. I notice the language is focusing on releasing the company from liability. that is wrong. they are responsible because this was intentional.
