Just because something was difficult for you doesn't mean it should be like that for the next generation. I'm an elder millennial and having things in place to help the next generation be successful is not a bad thing. Also having a degree isn't bad either what programs lack is hands-on learning and professional development but the degree at least helps with the concepts. It's like kicking your kids out at 18 and telling them to figure life out with no guidance.

there used to be a tip shop, where you could buy things from the dump that they found, it closed when I was a kid, nothing like it has ever shown up again

Computer recycle drives used to be amazing. Come back that night. Hop in that dumpster and come away with a few hundred gb of hard drives, some CRTs, and some bits and bobs. Miss them days.

I’m graduating in December with BAS in cybersecurity with 2.5 years of IT support now in hospital IT and now a junior security analyst type role, is that good? I just don’t have any certs though

"go to college, get a degree, then get a job in the degree field" oops degree doesn't matter anymore cuz you didn't "do anything"...brother(not you) that's what the junior level is for! nah you gotta come in with years of exp. It's silly.

With these comments you can tell who thought a degree guaranteed a 6 figure tech job lol. Especially nowadays degrees are nearly useless in IT. Proving you can troubleshoot is going to land you a job, not using AI to copy/paste exam answers for your "degree"
