I use AI every day, and it’s helped me design products that would have taken me and a team of engineers a year or more to develop. With AI, I’ve been able to work through them myself in less than a month. Saying AI “isn’t ready for the public” is kind of funny when people are already using it every day—often without realizing it. AI helps with everything from the videos you make to the algorithms deciding who sees them. AI also can’t truly become ready for the real world in a completely controlled environment. It has to learn from real-world situations. Just like a child, it will make mistakes, learn from them, and improve. And as for data centers “consuming” water—water doesn’t just disappear. It gets circulated, reused, returned to the environment, or eventually becomes part of the water cycle. The bigger issue with data centers is their energy consumption. AI has risks, just like every technology we’ve ever created. Hacking and misuse aren’t unique to AI. Instead of automatically opposing something, I wish people would research the facts and think for themselves—especially when they’re using the technology they’re criticizing to make their own comments.
