I was 9 when this came out, I had just learned that wound to the stomach can be mortal wounds, I immediately said “oh he’s dead” and kept saying it throughout the movie. My parents kept telling me to be quiet and watched the movie. At the end of the movie I just looked at them like 👁️👄 👁️well well well

I just realized that Bruce Willis gets killed by a guy named Vincent coming out from the bathroom in this movie and he kills a guy named Vincent coming out from the bathroom in Pulp Fiction.

I saw this with my dad opening weekend and when the big reveal came the entire theater gasped. It was such a shocking reveal. One that I feel Shyamalan has chased the rest of his career to varying degrees of success. We watched again when it came to video with my mom who was also very surprised. Watching it the second time I picked up on the little clues that were right there in your face the entire movie. Which leads to the scene where Malcolm is in Cole’s home sitting across from Cole’s mother. The first time I saw it I assumed they spoke together but obviously they didn’t. It was such a cool way to use the language of cinema against the audience. You see two people sitting across from each other, you assume they’re having a conversation. I love this movie so much. This, Unbreakable and Split are probably Shyamalan’s best movies. See you next week!

The scene in the car when he’s explaining what his grandma is saying, Toni Collette’s acting shook me to my core. And it hits even harder when you are a mother watching it. It’s such a pivotal scene in my mind I can see the color sweater she was wearing and it instantly takes me back.

Cole's objective of "not having fear", is accomplished by his change of perspective. That's the same for a lot of things that we find scary, when we understand them better and try to see them in a different way, we realize that they aren't scary anymore.
