Having read the Bible from cover to cover ( by studying it for a whole year, along with other religious texts from the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Dao Te Ching AND the Quran ). . . I’m shocked at how Christians haven’t actually read/studied/learned from the Bible.

The only problem with this process is that it is disingenuous to a God who failed to use his omnipotence to change his own "word" in order to prevent slavery and homophobia to begin with. The fact that we have to refactor scripture to support our more enlightened morals suggests that the Bible is actually a giant sack of lies (a fact supported by significant scientific evidence). We shouldn't waste our time on the Bible at all, because all it has to offer humans is ignorance and confusion.
