@pharmacisttherapist: The pharmacy misplaced a prescription and the solution was to take the siblings prescription? A pharmacist reacts. #pharmacy #pharmacistreacts #pharmacist #retailpharmacy #walgreens @Delores | Your Poly Bestie
if they can find twin b's prescription but twin a is missing, couldn't they rerun it through the system, generate 2 labels as partial fill for each? I know when my pharmacy doesn't have all my medicine, they do a partial fill. could they do the same for the twins?

Some pharmacists are addicts. Some steal meds. Rare but it happens.

Feel for ya. The very well-known pharmacy I used to visit merged my account with another patient's--a man I didn't know who lived in another city--and then locked me out and gave him full access to all of my medications and medical history. All bc I purchased a new phone with a new phone number that used to be his. When I updated my number, the pharm merged the accounts and when he called in next, he used the old number to access his account. So, the pharm changed the name on the account, locking me completely out... or at least this is this the explanation they gave me. This pharmacy also, multiple times, shorted me by one tab of Topiramate, so that I had to finally ask for a standing double count on all of my meds. Like where the heck is the one tab of Topi going???

Even on "OTC" pseudoephedrine, I've told family they need to take turns with their roommate because they might both be using it safely, but at least in their state (if it's not a federal thing) someone different needs to buy it next time if it got used up during the ick season.

Legally, a school nurse can’t simply dispense medication that’s not prescribed to a patient/child it’s not written for. I’m sure, like yourself, that pharmacist knows this- which makes it pretty wild they actually suggested it to her.

Many years ago, probably about 25, we grabbed my son’s Ritalin for a family vacation and didn’t check to see if the count was right. We ran out on vacation. We called the pharmacy from the camp, and they sent a replacement script to the local place in the town we were in. When we got back, they had tacked the amount onto the next month’s because we “lost” it. I spoke to the manager and he all but accused us of stealing it. I assured him that we did not appreciate the query and pulled all our scripts out of that pharmacy and transferred them to another local one.

Imagine the field day those mandated reporters at the school would’ve had if she listened to this mess.

When their profits are more important than patients, a lot like the insurance companies. It’s a sham.

I don't know if this is the case for you, but my Walgreens specialty medication (dupixent) is transferred to a regular walgreens near me and does not show up in the computers there. I have to tell them it's a transfer every time, so they know where to look.
