Nationalism and Christianity made of the fruitful life of Saint Sava what made him an exceptional, an extraordinary phenomenon. He connected not only the law of body and blood, nationalism, but also the law of the life of the spirit, Christianity, and intensely and comprehensively lived both to the end. If we study his life, then we see that he was a nationalist in the deepest sense, and on the other hand a Christian in the highest sense of those words. Our people experienced misfortunes because they moved away from that path along which Saint Sava had led them.
