Anthropic is getting sued over Claude's pricing, and the detail matters if you pay for the $100 or $200 plan. The Max plans advertise 5x and 20x more usage than Pro. A class action filed June 14 says those multipliers only describe the five hour session budget. The weekly cap is a separate meter, and per the complaint the $100 plan works out to about 3.5x Pro for the week while the $200 plan lands around 6 to 8x. So doubling your bill buys roughly double the weekly usage, not four times. Allegations for now, not a verdict. Then on August 31 Sony Music Publishing and Warner Chappell sued too, claiming Claude was trained on lyrics they own. The ask is up to $150,000 per song. My take: never buy the bigger plan off the pricing page. Watch your usage readout for a week and see which limit you actually hit. Most owners doing email, quotes and admin never touch the weekly cap, and the $200 tier mostly exists for people running code all day.
