Im a recovering alcoholic and Ive had to teach myself that boring is normal, boring is safe and its okay. I was so use to my life being a living hell that when I got sober, the silence felt deafening. Now I go to bed at 8 pm, wake up at 4 am, gym, work, take care of my son, and im happy. Boring is normal and healthy for me. Im 8 months sober as of 3 days ago. Ive been following you silently for a while, and its always a joy to see you on my page. Thank you.

I often tell pregnant people that I hope they have the "most boring and uneventful labor and birth possible" and dads always look at me like I am being rude but people who have been through it know EXACTLY why that's the best thing to hope for.

I bought a house in a very small town, like we have 2 traffic lights, i love it here its so quiet and nice. the amount of people who told me i shouldnt move and I would hate it is INSANE. and they'll ask me if I still like it, bro I love it. I love my lil cottage i love my lil towns events i love the community thrift shop and lil bakery its baller out here.

oh quick note! i don’t think id say boring is my goal these days, but it was a hard and fast goal for the time i had it. that got me through a lot and the pursuit of it really stabilized me

I agree. I also have the problem where I'm cast as whatever character, but no one really knows me. They think I'm lying to say I enjoy thinking and studying. I will never need an exciting life because truly I just wanna be where the knowledge is. One of my favorite uses for what I've learned is when I'm cast as slow moving or an imbecile. Big buff men used to try to out-compete me when I was overweight at my job. They'd get so mad when I would out do them without trying because I can do math and love sitting for months or years building strategies. My life may be boring, but I've lived such a full life and have accomplished so much in my personal life that I wanted.

Like me too. I want a two bedroom house (one for me and one for any guests I won't be having) with two bathrooms, kitchens, a massive garage, office space and a small library nook. Maybe a small pond and a willow tree on my property. I'll take a mango tree too. That's it. One bicycle and one car. I'm not ambitious.

due to trauma(this is MY case I am in no way stating it is the creators case!) I have come to decide that I LIKE a boring life. nothing interesting is happening? GOOD. that means nothing BAD is happening either and im good with that being my day to day. I have had enough excitement for one life. thank you. I am a hobbit now.

I work at a sandwich shop and don’t see myself leaving any time soon. My bills get paid, im happy, and there’s opportunity’s for development. I got pretty good grades in school and went to college so ppl often feel that im wasting my time. But if im fulfilled why tf does it matter? I went to college for the life experience with no idea what I wanted to do after, I don’t regret it at all but why should I just stick to the one path that y’all think I should follow when I’m happy in the path I’m taking now. That’s not even to say it won’t ever change, I may end up deciding to leave eventually, but it’ll be up to me🤷🏻♀️

This is how I feel when people used to try to correct me when I’d say that I was comforted by knowing that I am not really special. When I was pregnant I found incredible comfort knowing I’m not special I’m not the first nor last woman to give birth and there are millions of women who have come before me who did this same thing, and people always wanted to correct me and say “no! You’re special! Don’t talk down to yourself like that!” But I wasn’t talking down to myself I was talking UP to myself!
