11 years and the reason why he continued to hurt me was because he didn’t realize that I was serious when I said “this hurts”. He figured it was a mood, that it would pass, that things would go back to normal, because that’s what he learned to expect in his childhood family, and that’s what he learned to expect from being with me. I was going through the cycle, hope, disappointment, despair, hope, disappointment, despair. I wasn’t listening to my soul. And neither was he. I don’t blame him.

He knew and enjoyed it. He was upset that I wasn’t struggling enough so he started to cause problems in the divorce, luckily I had a very good solicitor who dealt with him effectively
