Out of Dean, Logan and Jess, Jess is probably the ONLY one who wouldn’t let her quit college, not even for a bit. Actually, with Jess there would be no Logan, therefore no Mitchum Huntzburger, no internship and there wouldn’t had been that conversation that teared Rory in half. I know she had high expectations, I know the ending is real a like and not what we expected, but as a “Rory” myself, she should’ve stayed with Jess because of this aspect. He would’ve reminded her since day one that what Mitchum said is not real. Or that she could get better because she got it. He wasn’t the one with more money, the one with a better family structure… but he worked his way up because he LISTENED to Rory. I can’t remember a single time Dean listened to her. Logan only started listening to her when he almost died on that trip. After watching almost 10 times, I stand by Jess. If he had a good and structured family like Dean had and money like Logan did, I can’t even begin to think how his character could have been. But that’s it.
