@nofingerprints_truecrime: CASE 102 • THE BROOKE DEVINNEY CASE • OHIO • 2024 • On June 16, 2024, 19-year-old Brooke Devinney, who was approximately 14 weeks pregnant, was attacked inside a Columbus, Ohio home. • Brooke’s sister-in-law texted 911 to report that Devon Blair, Brooke’s on-and-off boyfriend, was assaulting her. When officers arrived, Brooke was critically injured and unresponsive. • Brooke was rushed to the hospital, where she and her unborn son died that morning. • This was not the first time Brooke had reported violence involving Blair. Just days before her death, she told authorities that he had assaulted her and threatened to kill her. • Blair fled when police arrived but was located and arrested later that day. • In July 2025, Devon Blair pleaded guilty to strangulation, two counts of involuntary manslaughter, and two counts of felonious assault. • He was sentenced to 46 to 51½ years in prison, with an additional two years connected to an earlier case involving Brooke. • Brooke had spoken up. She had reported the violence and the threats. Her family still endured the unimaginable loss of Brooke and the baby she was carrying. • No prison sentence can erase that kind of sadness or take away the ache left behind for the people who loved them.
