Stepfather moved back home with his family about a week before Xavier became catatonic. Dr. Charles concluded that even though Xavier didn't witness the explosion, he likely understood how dangerous his stepfather's job is. This fear and anxiety are what triggered his catatonic state.

Basically the Step Dad who is a cop got with the boys mom when he was younger. Things were really bad for those two before she started dating the new guy, the guy in the clip. So one day I really don’t know what space is bc odysseus could not make it home, if you’re still reading this I apologize. Crazy the Knicks won, I’m still in shock.

Step dad is a cop and the kid was scared something would happen to him and he would suddenly lose his “second dad” just like the first left him. Kid was ok but stepdad blamed himself for it.
