If the agents find it useful to have that type of coordination, why make them Macgyver it? Just work with them. Ask them what their ideal communication layer looks like and let them build it internally.

It doesn’t require any clever invention or ‘discovery’ by these LLMs. This is the sort of communication behaviour that started with script kiddies exchanging messages via bulletin board systems and file servers before the general population were allowed to access the internet, and migrated to ftp sites and chat boards soon after. The entire process is so widely described that it’s part of the LLM training corpus, especially material lifted from the Web.
