As she is being sucked back into the present, she desperately screams out to him: "Find me in the future!" If you go back and watch the very first meeting between Howl and Sophie at the beginning of the movie, Howl lands right next to her to save her from the soldiers and his exact first words are: "There you are sweetheart, sorry I'm late. I was looking everywhere for you." He wasn't just using a smooth pickup line! He had literally spent his entire adult life searching for the girl from his childhood memory.
